Over the years, the area of human-computer interaction has been focused on cognitive factors. However, in the last decade there have been a growing interest and focus on emotional factors. Thus, it has been valued above all the user experience in which emotions play a crucial role because of their recognized importance in terms of both performance and influence in areas such as motivation, learning, decision making, intelligence, and behavior. The main aim of this work was to understand the potential of the application of emotional design in interfaces by analyzing the emotional responses triggered in the interaction with a web interface, Duolingo, a website for learning languages.
